School Council
Roles & Responsibilities
Every year, all pupils have the opportunity to be elected as their class' School Council representative. When elected, our School Council visit the Houses of Parliament where they participate in a guided tour, complete a workshop and understand democracy in Britain to support their understanding of how their new role can impact their peers and school.
Our School Council must:
- be an excellent role model for other pupils
- demonstrate our school values
- represent the views of others, even when we may not agree with that view
- contribute and share ideas and thinking at meetings
- share class ideas at School Council meeting
- share School Council proposals with their class
- have regular meetings and discussions with their class
- support everyone in ‘Striving to be the best that we can be’
- meet with our local MP, John McDonnell
All School Councillors have to attend meetings regularly and discuss a range of issues including:
- healthy eating in school
- the school environment
- school uniform
- improving the playground
- after school activities
Whole School Accreditations
In addition, our School Council work hard to achieve whole school accreditations. This year, they are working to achieve the Healthy London Schools Gold Award 2024-2025!
