Keeping your Child Safe

Grange Park Junior School has a curriculum that includes teaching our children how to be safe at school, home and in the local community.  We do this through our Wellbeing Room, themed assemblies, PSHE lessons, computing lessons (e-safety), class circle time, themed events such as Anti-Bullying week and workshops.

Workshops

Whilst in the Junior School all children will attend an NSPCC workshop on keeping themselves safe in regard to the different forms of abuse.

Across the curriculum year, all year groups have age related workshops run by 'Just Enough' (see below).  The aim of these workshops is to educate and support our children to be safe in the community that they live in now and the wider community that, as they grow up, they will be exposed to.

Year 3:   Autumn Term - Inclusion, Summer Term - Online Bullying

Year 4:   Autumn Term - Health & Happiness, Spring Term - Earth and Us, Summer Term - Online Bullying

Year 5:   Autumn Term - Modern Slavery, Spring Term - Hate Crimes, Summer Term - County Lines

Year 6:   Autumn Term - Hate Crimes, Spring Term - Radicalisation, Summer Term - Knife Crime plus one other workshop which is to be confirmed.
